The Health Benefits of
Ionized Water
Many believe that
ionized water, including the minerals in ionized water, is more easily
absorbed by the body than ordinary water.
Ionization of water was first introduced
in Japan 30 years ago, where it continues to be used in Japanese
medical centers to effectively treat many different illnesses, including
diabetic ulcerations. Major
manufacturers of water ionizing appliances, such as Jupiter Dong Yang
Science, claim that consumption
of alkaline water with a lower ORP and higher oxygen content improves
health. Many nutrition experts
support this claim. Recently, tests at a U.K. university established
that ionized water killed over 99 percent
of most known forms of bacteria, including Staphylococcus Aureus and E.
Coli. A research project just
started in the U.S. is working on the effectiveness of acidic water on
burns.
The Japanese Health & Welfare Department classifies some water ionizers
as medical instruments and
submits them to rigorous tests every six months. As medical instruments,
they are used to cure conditions
such as chronic diarrhea, chronic indigestion, abnormal gastrointestinal
fermentation, and hyperacidity.
Many doctors, nurses, professionals, and patients believe that the water
does a lot more than just cure
these illnesses.
Many believe that ionized water, including the minerals in ionized
water, is more easily absorbed by the
body than ordinary water. There appears to be a correlation between the
consumption of nonionized water
and chronic cellular dehydration. It is also claimed that ionized water
is an antioxidant. Water ionization
turns inorganic minerals into a colloidal form that allows them to be
absorbed by the body. This makes
ionized water healthier to drink than ordinary water. However, this also
increases the absorption rate of
medications. One company, Cellhealth, warns clients that if they are
taking medications, they should ask
their doctor’s advice regarding medication dosage.
Antioxidants are a widely discussed subject in the field of health
today. Which antioxidants are the best?
Water ionization produces a powerful antioxidant, negative hydrogen,
that helped life form and sustain
itself in the first place. Today it is universally accepted that excess
free radicals cause illness, including
cancer. The overproduction of free radicals, which is caused by a poor
diet, stress, chemicals, and
pollution, clearly has an adverse affect on health.
The late Dr. William Kelley, founder of the College of Metabolic
Medicine, used ionized water in his
treatments. His opinion was that the discovery of ionized water is the
most important advance in health
care since Sir Alexander Fleming’s discovery of penicillin. Dr.
Thedodore A. Baroody, author of Alkalize or
Die, after years of positive results in his own practice, believes that
water ionization technology will change
the approach to health care by providers and the public alike.
Indeed, the number of health care providers and members of the public
using water ionizers grows every
week as knowledge of its benefits spreads. It has helped treat many
common ailments, including include
fungal disease, skin conditions, high blood pressure, digestive
problems, overacidity, arthritis, and
osteoporosis. There are beauty applications, too. Because ionized acidic
water is an astringent, it can
reduce lines on the face and will not damage the hair like normal tap
water.
Although Western medicine has not yet confirmed the benefits of drinking
alkaline water, there are plenty
of testimonials from consumers who have improved or reversed diseases by
drinking it.
