Shower Water Filters
If you want to
protect your skin and health, it is better to choose the second type of
shower filter, which is carbon based.
How do you choose from among the many
different brands of shower filters on the market? First, by simply
knowing that there are only two basic types of filters: salt and carbon.
Next, by understanding the
differences between these two types.
Salt water filters require frequent refills. They soften your water by
using sodium to react with the minerals
in your tap water. They remove chlorine and other contaminants, but they
add sodium. The result is close to
saltwater. Saltwater is a skin irritant and corrodes pipes and
appliances. It may also have harmful effects
on pets, plants, and people over time if used for drinking.
If you want to protect your skin and health, it is better to choose the
second type of shower filter, which is
carbon based. A carbon shower water filter leaves in useful minerals
such as calcium and magnesium
while eliminating chlorines and other harmful chemicals and pollutants.
The water feels better on your skin
and rinses cleanly out of your hair. It does not corrode your plumbing,
either. Experts advise that you do
some research and sample the difference before making a choice.
